will the potatoes be to thick for her? And are there “baby food veggies” that are “tastier” then others?
Thanx to all that answer, I apppreciate your time and input.

Give her as much as she wants to eat. There is not set guideline. She’ll let you know when she’s done. Mashed potatoes are fine too. Just add more milk to make them the consistency of pudding.
ETA: yes, I am a mother. Of 2 as a matter of fact. My kids are good eaters so I think I am qualified to answer. Some of you new mothers take everything so literally. How much milk is in a quarter cup of mashed potatoes- Maybe a tbsp or 2! That will not upset your baby tummy at all. You all need to relax.
with baby food i fed mine till she didnt want it anynore. i never measured. she she was hungry she ate. nature.
as far as potatoes go, i say A TINY BIT is ok now and then BUT, MASHED POTATOES HAVE COWS MILK (if thats how u make urs) cows milk can make baby VERY VERY VERY constipated so be careful on how much u give
ok and DONT ADD EXTRA MILK!!! ARE YOU CRAZY?!!!?!? YOU (the answer above mine) are obviously not a mom
It’ll depend on your child. You can give your child mashed potatoes, I did turns out my kids loved then better then the onrs in the canister. The veggies that taste better are the carrots, green beans and squash.
You can find your baby girl as much as she wants to eat. either she will spit it back at you, spit up or turn her head when she is full.
What to feed
• Breast milk or formula, PLUS
• Iron-fortified cereals (rice, barley, oats)
• Pureed or strained fruits (banana, pears, applesauce, peaches)
• Pureed or strained vegetables (avocado, well-cooked carrots, squash, and sweet potato)
How much per day
• 3 to 9 tablespoons cereal, in 2 to 3 feedings
• 1 teaspoon fruit, gradually increased to ¼ to ½ cup in 2 to 3 feedings
• 1 teaspoon vegetables, gradually increased to ¼ to ½ cup in 2 to 3 feedings
your best bet is to start out on sweet potatoes, then carrots, green beans and then peas and squash. always wait 3-4 days (meaning try one food for three to four days straight, to make sure your baby doesnt have a reaction) before introducing a new food. make sure once you try one veggie, try one fruit… bananas and applesauce are good to start out on.
when making your own homemade mashed potatoes, make sure you dont add anything to the mash potatoes other than formula.. to get the potatoes to the consistency you want (make them like they are thin like gravy)(never milk, not until she is a year old)
mashed potatoes are fine, anything home made is far better than in a jar.
peel the potatoes, put them in a little water to steam, when they are really tender, really really tender, take it off the stove, add some formula to it, make sure not to throw out the water you steamed it in since it containes all the nutrients, no salt, maybe a touch of butter, that’s all. water, formula, potatoes & butter.just give the baby as much as she wants, don’t force her, wait at least five days before starting another food, this is the only way you can tell if the baby is allergic to anything….
baby carrots and pumkin are also nice, don’t give the baby fruits first since she might get used to the sweet taste of the fruit & not want to try the food!!! the main thing is that your baby is getting all the nutrients she needs from her formula right now!!!!
all have different appetites but my son is 5 1/2 months and he has been on solids since the start of week 17 i started him on one tablespoon mixed with formula and now let him guide me yeah mashed potatoes are fine mix with formula no cows milk butter or salt or just mash them and mix with some gravy
