Question by Chinwaging: How does a baby pick up 2 or 3 language at the same time?
OK, I know that’s impossible for a grown-up to learn a foreign language like a baby cause of the physically changes. But, isn’t there at least a similar way to do so? Does anyone know how babys pick up one or even more languages at the same time? How do baby learn stuff?

I don’t think that they learn them at the same time.
For example in China I think they speak chinese till they’re 2 or 3 when they start to speak properly, then they introduce languages such as English etc and the baby picks them up like their first mother tounge.

Question by jacdmcm: Why do so many people have a problem with your baby sleeping in the same bed as you?
A lot of poeple I’ve talked to say never to start that because you’ll have a hard time with trasitioning them back to sleeping by themselves. My baby has been sleeping in the same bed as us since he was born and he’s 9 months now. Almost everyone I’ve talked to said they did the same thing and there was no problem getting them to sleep by themselves. Who is against it, and why? Who is for it, and why?

i plan on having my child sleep in its own room from day one. my younger brother slept with my parents and he did not finally sleep in his own room until he was eight years old. they put another bed for him in the opposite corner of their room when he was about four.

Is letting a baby cry in your arms the same as ‘crying it out’?

For example, baby is hungry, I am finishing a task, so dad has to hold him for a few minutes until I can feed him, and he’s crying his head off…but dad is holding and trying to soothe the whole time. I hate to hear him cry but I know I’ll be right with him and he is being loved- is this damaging like the notorious ‘crying it out’ method?
